Upload & File Handling Policy

Requirements for uploaded files, project retention, confidentiality, and download responsibility.

Last updated: July 24, 2026

This policy explains how uploaded audio and delivered files should be handled when using Finite Mastering.

Files you send

You must upload final, complete, non-corrupt audio files.

Please make sure your mix is ready for mastering before uploading. Finite Mastering is not responsible for poor results caused by distorted, clipped, incomplete, badly exported, or incorrect files.

Corrupt, missing, or unsupported files

If a file is corrupt, unsupported, missing, or cannot be opened, turnaround time may restart once a usable file is received.

Downloads and backups

You are responsible for downloading and backing up your final mastered files.

Retention and deletion

Unless agreed otherwise, uploaded files and mastered files are kept for 30 days after delivery and may then be deleted. Finite Mastering is not a long-term storage or backup service.

Files are stored using Cloudflare R2 and Dropbox. Both services use encryption in transit and at rest. While we maintain secure storage practices, clients remain responsible for downloading and retaining their own copies of delivered files.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption, secure authentication, access controls, and reputable cloud providers to help protect client files and personal information.

Confidentiality

We understand that clients often upload unreleased or commercially sensitive material. All submitted audio is treated as confidential and is never shared or used outside the scope of providing our services unless required by law or with your permission.
