Frequently Asked Questions
Common project and technical questions from artists, producers, and labels.
What is your standard turnaround?
Standard turnaround is 3-5 business days for singles and 5-8 business days for EP/album projects, depending on complexity.
How many revisions are included?
One revision round is included with each mastering order. Additional mastering revision rounds are £15 each.
How do revisions work?
Each mastering order includes one revision round at no additional cost. Please include all requested changes together where possible and submit the request within 7 days of delivery. A revision adjusts the master created from the original submitted mix. A new mix, changed arrangement, updated stems, replacement source, or substantially different creative direction is not a revision and may incur a separate remastering or service fee. Additional mastering revision rounds are £15 each.
What file formats should I send?
Please send stereo 24-bit WAV or AIFF mixes, exported at the mix session sample rate, with at least -6 dB peak headroom.
How do you handle loudness for streaming?
Masters are shaped for musical impact first, then checked against current platform normalization behavior to avoid avoidable artifacts.
Do you offer stem mastering?
Yes. Stem mastering is available as an add-on when a track needs targeted control beyond stereo mastering.
How should I prepare mixes before sending?
Disable limiters on the mix bus unless intentional, remove clipping, and print clean fades. Reference tracks and release notes are optional, but they can help us get closer to your vision.
What project information should I provide for an EP or album?
Before mastering begins, please provide the final release title, artist name, correctly spelled song titles, confirmed track order, and any specific spacing or fade instructions. If ISRC codes need to be embedded or included with the project, please supply them before work begins. Finite Mastering does not issue ISRC codes, so clients must obtain and provide their own where required.
