Terms of Service

Website terms covering use of the Finite Mastering service, revisions, turnaround expectations, ownership, and acceptable use.

Last updated: July 24, 2026

These terms apply when you use this website, place an order, upload audio, or download a mastered file from Finite Mastering.

Using the service

By using this website, placing an order, uploading audio, or downloading a mastered file, you agree to these terms.

Finite Mastering provides online music mastering services. Unless agreed separately, mastering does not include mixing, vocal tuning, editing, production, sample clearance, distribution, artwork, metadata registration, or marketing.

Turnaround and delivery

Normal turnaround time is 24 to 48 hours after payment, usable files, and clear instructions have been received. Turnaround times are estimates unless a guaranteed deadline is confirmed in writing.

Payment and delivery

All non-album orders require payment in full before work begins. Deposits are not available for these orders.

Album mastering requires a 50% deposit before work begins. The remaining 50% balance must be paid before the final approved master files are delivered.

Your files and ownership

You are responsible for making sure that any audio you upload is legal, owned by you, or properly licensed. This includes beats, samples, vocals, loops, stems, remixes, AI-generated content, and any third-party material.

You keep full ownership of your music. Finite Mastering does not claim ownership of your songs, recordings, stems, vocals, beats, samples, or mastered files.

By uploading audio, you give Finite Mastering permission to store, copy, analyse, process, master, render, and deliver your files only so the service can be provided, your order supported, the website protected, and legal obligations met.

Clients retain ownership of all uploaded audio, recordings, and associated intellectual property. Finite Mastering receives only the limited rights necessary to perform the requested mastering services and deliver the completed masters.

Mastering results

Mastering is both technical and creative. Results depend on the quality of the mix you send. Finite Mastering cannot guarantee that a master will sound exactly like a reference track, achieve a fixed loudness on every streaming platform, be accepted by a distributor, or produce commercial success.

Streaming platforms may change playback loudness through normalization, which is outside Finite Mastering's control.

Revisions

Each mastering order includes one revision round at no additional cost if requested within 7 days of delivery. A revision is an adjustment to the master created from your original submitted mix.

If you send a new mix, changed arrangement, new vocal, new beat, updated stems, or a substantially different creative direction after mastering has begun, this is treated as a new source file rather than a revision and may incur a remastering fee. Additional mastering revision rounds are available for £15 each.

AI and automated processing

The service may use automated or AI-assisted tools to analyse and process audio, including loudness, dynamics, frequency balance, stereo image, peaks, distortion risk, and file quality.

Customer uploads are not used to train AI models unless separate permission is requested and clearly given. Automated processing is part of the mastering workflow, but it does not guarantee a perfect or commercially successful result.

Acceptable use

You must not upload or use the service for anything unlawful, infringing, stolen, malicious, abusive, threatening, hateful, privacy-violating, or technically harmful.

You must not upload malware, attempt to damage the website, abuse the upload system, impersonate another artist or rights holder, or claim to represent someone without permission. If you are ordering for someone else, you must have permission from that client or rights holder.

Legal note

These terms describe the working basis on which Finite Mastering provides its services. If a legal issue, consumer protection question, or rights dispute arises, applicable UK law will apply alongside these terms.

Force Majeure

Finite Mastering will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its services where that delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These may include internet outages, cloud service interruptions, power failures, cyber incidents, natural disasters, government action, labour disputes, or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented. Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to restore normal service as quickly as practicable.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finite Mastering’s total liability arising from any order or service shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

Finite Mastering will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits, business opportunities, reputation, anticipated savings, or commercial success resulting from the use of the mastered audio.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the services provided by Finite Mastering shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer protection law provides otherwise.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, Upload & File Handling Policy, and Copyright / Takedown Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Finite Mastering in relation to the use of this website and the services provided through it.
