Mastering

Mastering is the final technical and musical quality stage between a finished mix and public release. The goal is not maximum loudness at any cost; it is reliable translation, tonal consistency, controlled dynamics, and final-format readiness across listening systems.

Why mastering matters

  • Translation: maintain intent on earbuds, car systems, studio monitors, and consumer devices.
  • Tonal balance: refine spectral relationships without destabilizing the mix.
  • Dynamics: preserve musical movement while controlling peaks and density.
  • Sequencing: align level and tonal continuity across EP/album projects.

Deliverables

  • 24-bit WAV
  • 16-bit WAV
  • DDP (optional add-on)
  • Streaming-optimized versions
  • Instrumental alternate (optional)

Upload checklist

  • Final mix files (stereo WAV or AIFF, no clipping)
  • Reference tracks with brief notes
  • Project notes: tone, loudness concerns, intended release format

Turnaround and revisions

Standard turnaround: 3-5 business days for singles, 5-8 business days for larger projects.

Two revision rounds are included per track, focused on clear actionable notes and efficient closure.

Rush options are available when schedule capacity permits.

Loudness approach

Loudness decisions are made musically, not competitively. Each master is evaluated for impact, transients, and tonal stability first.

Platform normalization behavior is considered to avoid unnecessary distortion, pumping, or over-limiting. The target is consistent translation and long-term listenability, not short-term meter gain.
